Steinar Karlsen - Woodcarvings
Norwegian born artist Steinar Karlsen is a wizard with wood. Unless you are fortunate enough to watch him work you would never believe his sculptures are created with a chainsaw. Steinar is a man with deep roots in the traditions of his home country. He enjoyed great success in all his business endeavors but something was missing. The rewards of the material world and the ego boost that such success can bring left him flat. Steinar had an overwhelming desire to create something that would express his feelings. He discovered a talent harbored inside, a talent for sculpture.
From his whimsical carvings of trolls to his elegant life size vikings, Steinar puts himself into every piece.
Most of his sculptures are custom orders for businesses, private people and commissioned works for municipalities.
In addition to sculptures Steinar creates signs and carved furniture. There is no limit to his imagination.
