The beautiful Lysefjorden, home of the famous Preikestolen or Pulpit Rock which rises some 600 meters above the fjord is one of the wildest fjords in all of Norway.

The Jæren is special to Rogaland.  This mostly flat area is Norway's most productive farmland.  At one time this area was covered with heather and boulders.  Today the many boulder fences that separate the fields serve as a reminder of all the back breaking work needed to make this lush eden.

Hafrsfjord, the site of the battle which united all of Norway, is marked with 3 enormous swords embedded in rock.  Nearby a farm from the Iron Age has been reconstructed.
